Cooking Hints

- For best results, use your favorite natural casing hot dog or pre-cooked bratwurst. Skinless hot dogs don’t roast very well.
- The quality of marshmallows is also important. Some brands of marshmallows are very hard to roast without burning or simply melting off into the fire. This is disappointing for everyone.
- Bratwurst must be precooked. Uncooked bratwurst are simply too soft on the inside and won’t spin. Place hot dogs and bratwurst on the skewer the long way. This allows for even cooking which is one of the biggest advantages of the Campfire Rotisserie.
- Rest the Campfire Rotisserie on a rock or log surrounding the base of the fire. You may also consider purchasing a camp fork rest at your local camping supply retailer or create your own rest, which is part of the fun (there’s a little inventor in all of us). This will help support the weight of the Rotisserie and the food being roasted, making the experience more enjoyable, especially for younger ones.
- For best results, roast food at the base of the fire near the coals or radiant heat not over an open flame.
- Spin the Rotisserie slowly, making it easier to control, for best results.
- Be creative. If it will spin on the skewer, and it tastes good cooked on a camp fire, by all means, give it a whirl.
